| Unique Mixproof Valves
Alfa Laval’s Unique mixproof valve concept offers you customized
and modular solutions that exactly fit your application or
demands. The reliable valve is spillage-free during operation
providing optimum hygienic conditions, and the SpiralClean
system cleans more efficiently and uses less cleaning fluid.
The valve requires minimal service and maintenance.

Unique-TO – Tank Outlet
Unique-TO is specifically designed for mixproof operation and
safe tank outlet operations, where cleaning of pipelines up
to the bottom of the tank is required. The design offers seat
lift cleaning inside the tank. When choosing “Unique-TO with
external cleaning” the valve can run under aseptic like conditions,
when using steam to the CIP pipes. The design of the
balanced plug in the pipeline eliminates the risk of pressure

|Unique Single Seat Valves
This new generation of valves is designed to meet the most stringent
hygiene and safety requirements in your process installations.
The new generation is built on a well-proven, platform from an
installed base of more than one million valves.
The Unique Single Seat Valve is based on a modular design concept
that makes parts interchangeable between different models
within the range. This reduces both the practical burden and the
cost of carrying a large inventory of spare parts.
The design also features only a small number of moveable parts,
which makes it extremely reliable and very hygienic for either stopping
or diverting product flow in both single and multi-directional
Compressed air is used for remote control of the valve. Controlled
compression of the seals by metal-to-metal contact reduces
seal wear. The actuator – which features a 5-year warranty – is
connected to the valve body by a yoke, and all components are
assembled using clamp rings. The valve is delivered only partly
assembled to make installation easier.
Unique Single Seat Valve – Reverse Acting
This is an air-operated seat valve with a versatile, hygienic design.
It can be used in a wide range of applications, including as a shutoff
valve with two, three or four ports or as a change-over valve
with three to six ports.
The Unique Single Seat Valve – Reverse Acting is especially suitable
for use in sanitary applications in which it can be necessary to
divert a process flow, such as for periodical product recirculation.
For example, this valve type is commonly used in pasteurizing
systems to ensure recirculation when an alteration of the product
temperature is required. It is also ideal for use as both stop valve
and change-over valve in applications where pressure shocks
must be avoided.
Unique Single Seat Valve – Aseptic
This aseptic valve features a one-piece diaphragm to ensure hermetic
sealing against atmosphere. This valve is suited for aseptic
operating conditions such as high sterilisation temperatures.
This valve type is based on the Unique Single Seat Valve modular
platform, and specially designed for use in aseptic processing. It is
available in both shut-off and change-over versions.
The valve is remotely controlled using compressed air. The design
features only a small number of simple moveable parts, which makes it
extremely reliable as well as ensuring low maintenance costs.
Unique Single Seat Valve – Manually Operated
The versatile, hygienic design of this manually operated version of
the Unique Single Seat Valve can be used in a wide range of applications,
including as a shut-off valve or as a change-over valve.

| This version is based on the Unique Single Seat Valve modular
design platform, and features a regulating valve for manual control
of pressure and flow, to help ensure gradual opening.
The design also features only a small number of simple moveable
parts, resulting in exceptional reliability as well as making these
valves easy to dismantle.
The plug can be fixed in the adjusted position using a lock screw.
Unique Single Seat Tank Outlet Valve
Unique Single Seat Valve – Tank Outlet is an air–operated seat valve
with a flexible design giving a wide field of applications. E.g. closing
up against tank or opening into the tank with one or two ports.
The Unique Single Seat Tank Outlet Valve consists of one body
and a tank flange, which are clamped together. To ensure a high
degree of flexibility the valve seat is loose. To reduce the wear of
sealing’s there is a controlled compression of seals by metal to
metal contact. The actuator comes with a 5 years warranty.
| The actuator is connected to the valve body using a yoke and all
components are assembled with clamp rings. To facilitate installation
the valve is only partly assembled when delivered.
Unique Small Single Seat Valve
This version, with its versatile, hygienic design, can be used for a
wide range of tasks either as a stop valve with two or three ports
or as a change-over valve with three to five ports. The valve is
suitable for use in the food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical
The design and features of the Small Single Seat Valve make it
very hygienic and easy to clean. With its special double lip sealing
concept, this valve is very safe, even under vacuum. Due to the
very limited number of moving parts, it is also extremely reliable.
The Small Single Seat Valve is available in both remotely controlled
and manually operated versions.

|Aseptic Diaphragm Valve
Alfa Laval offers an extensive range of aseptic diaphragm valves
for ultra-hygienic processes. The diaphragm valve is the most
commonly used valve in the pharmaceutical industry, but it is also
an ideal alternative for other aseptic applications.
The Alfa Laval Aseptic Diaphragm Valve is a weir type diaphragm
valve. With its modular design, composed of: valve body,
diaphragm and actuator, it enables the realization of special
designs and needs with high quality and well-proven standard
components. It can be combined in a number of configurations
and executions but the most typical is a two-way valve offering an
The Aseptic Diaphragm Valve is available both with manual and
pneumatic actuators with a number of options.
| The diaphragm is the critical part of the valve. In the Alfa Laval
range there are both soft and hard compounds each suitable
for their specific applications. The soft material diaphragm is
EPDM which also is available in EPDM with a Kevlar core when
extra mechanical stability is required. The hard diaphragm is
PTFE with either EPDM or Silicone as a backing plate.
For the pneumatic actuators Alfa Laval also offers an externsive
range of automation units, including control units, position
indicators, seal adjusters and stroke limiters.
Apart from the standard two-way valve Alfa Laval also offers
tank outlet valves, T valves and GMP/SAP valves in a wide
range of dimensions and configurations.

| Sanitary Ball Valves
SBV – Sanitary Ball Valve
The full bore design with zero flow restriction makes SBV the
optimum choice for viscous or particulate liquids. Applications
include the food and beverage industry, as well as the pharmaceutical
and chemical industries. Furthermore, the full bore
design makes the SBV applicable for pigging systems. The
valve can be operated by a pneumatic actuator or manually by
means of a handle.

| Regulating Valves
CPM-2 – Constant Pressure Modulating Valve
The Alfa Laval air-actuated CPM-2 valve series is designed to
maintain either constant inlet or constant outlet pressure
– important for such applications as pasteurization, separation,
filling systems, filters, filtration and heat exchangers.
Inside, a diaphragm/valve plug system reacts immediately to
any alteration of product pressure and changes position so
that the pre-set pressure is maintained. The valve operates
with a pressure-regulating valve for the compressed air and
a pressure gauge in the product line.
The optimum body design of the CPM-2 results in several
product benefits, such as excellent cleanability. As the inlet is
tangential to the bottom of the valve body there is no sump.
One special plug allows very low capacities and high CIP flow.
SPC-2 – Sanitary Electro-Pneumatic Modulating Valve
The SPC-2 is a sanitary valve for use in stainless steel pipe
systems. Typical applications are automatic control of pressure,
temperature, flow rates and tank levels. The combination
of electro-pneumatic actuator and specially designed valve
cone makes this one of the most responsive and accurate
regulation valves available.

The Keofitt aseptic sampling valve is designed for sterilization
before and after each sampling. The three parts are valve body,
valve head and rubber membrane.
The Keofitt is produced in two sizes for different viscosity, and
the high viscosity version is available with micro ports to enable
sampling by hypodermic needle.

The ThinkTop® offers the most advanced automated control
unit for all air-operated Alfa Laval sanitary valves. Whether you
are modifying an existing plant or planning a new installation,
the ThinkTop® is right for your process. Using a combination of
state-of-the-art, patented sensor system and preset tolerance
bands, the ThinkTop® is self-adjusting, eliminating the need for
adjustment over time.
The ThinkTop® Basic is a basic control head including sensor
unit and up to 3 solenoid valves to control processing valves.
It is used to control and supervise pneumatic valves and is
mounted on top of the valve.
The sensor system is the well known and approved “No
Touch” principle from the ThinkTop® platform without any
mechanical sensor adjustments.
There can be programmed 2 PNP or 2 NPN feedback signals.
The selection of PNP or NPN is done by a jumper on the
sensor board itself. The LEDs are constantly indicating
the status of the unit: Valve position, solenoids activated, setup
and local fault indication.
The indication unit IndiTop is designed as a simple and
easy to use, electrical feedback unit for Alfa Laval sanitary
valves. It is compatible with all major PLC (Programmable Logic
Controller) digital input cards. It is for use in food, dairy and brewery
installations and in biopharmaceutical applications.
Once setup either by the quick and easy “5 push setup” or
remotely from the PLC, the unit will be able to send feedback
about the valve position through a fixed cable.
